Guardian Lion
Guardian Lion
Drawing of one of two Guardian Lion statues in Amboy, CA that mysteriously appeared with unknown origins in 2013. Made of marble and roughly six feet tall, these male and female statues are known as Foo Dogs and as symbols of protection where visitors have attached their own interpretation and meaning to the statues. In 2005, Albert Okura, a third-generation Japanese American chicken restauranteur and preservationist, purchased the unincorporated ghost town of Amboy with a promise to restore it. It is unclear whether there is any connection to the Foo Dogs.
