Archival Pigment Prints
To celebrate the relaunch of my website I would like to offer limited edition archival pigments prints on canvas for purchase. This first edition will be limited to 5 prints of each piece. They come with 1.5 inch bleed so they can be stretched and framed. They are also hand embellished with a splash of color, signed, numbered, and dated.
Archival prints are museum-quality pieces that use refined particles of pigment to create beautiful, high-resolution finished artwork. As its name suggests, this method of printing creates artwork designed to last a long time. Two key elements play a role in the lifespan of an archival pigment print—the ink and the canvas. Archival ink is far more resistant to fading than other dye-based inks. Archival ink prints offer greater scratch resistance and color stability as well. Canvas prints, are known to last for decades even centuries. They are resistant to fading and wear and tear, making them a great investment for your home or office. The combination of pigments and superior canvas quality constitutes their “archival” status. If you display archival prints under normal lighting conditions and take typical precautions, you can expect the work to last about 200 years in an album, 80 years when displayed behind glass, and 50 years when displayed without glass. Any print exposed to direct UV radiation (i.e., sunlight) will fade more quickly.
Prints are also available on enhanced matte paper. Enhanced matte has the ability to feature blacks like glossy paper but with a more gentle delivery. This is a smooth matte paper that make ‘blacks’ look like velvet and colors pop in ways that we don’t always associate with matte papers. Vibrant and saturated colors come off beautifully as well as earth tones and completely black and white images with Enhanced Matte. Also, matte papers generally have a texture to them and we have a great selection of these, but this paper has an extremely smooth surface which is effective especially for portraits. Another great quality that is inherent with matte papers is that they can look stunning no matter what sort of lighting condition they find themselves in. You don’t have to worry about viewing angles and they look beautiful at all hours of the day.
