One Book One World

In the spring of 2021 I volunteered for One Book One World. At the time A.A.P.I history had not been mandated in any school curriculum in any state in America. Most schools run on a shoe string budget so they could not justify buying books out side of what was taught in schools. O.B.O.W. mission was to donate books by A.A.P.I. authors and illustrators to schools and library around the country to offset the lack of A.A.P.I education in school curriculum's.

Originally I was going to donate my graphic design services and help O.B.O.W. create marketing materials for social media. However I ended up being the liaison between them and the publishing industry. I contacted all my clients to see if they could contribute books to the cause. In the end we were able to donate almost 2,000 books to schools and libraries around the United States.

Yes We Will

In 2022 Author Kelly Yang donated 250 copies of her book Yes We Will to One Book One World.

Kelly Yang is the #1 New York Timesbestselling author ofNew From Here, the Front Desk series, and the young adult novels Parachutes and Private Label. Her books have earned multiple awards, including the 2019 APALA Award for Children’s Literature, theParents’ ChoiceGold Medal, and multiple best of the year lists, and her writing has been published in theNew York Times, theWashington Post, and theAtlantic. Kelly immigrated to the United States when she was six years old and grew up in Southern California. Today, she and her family live in Los Angeles.
