Chinatown Branch Library Chicago
Chinatown Branch Library Chicago
This is the Chinatown Branch Library in Chicago Illinois. It was designed by Skidmore Owning & Merrill in 2015. It was inspired by the Birds Nest at the Beijing Olympics and in the day time the high-glass curtain walls allow maximum amount of light into the building. At night the lights from the interior glow making it look like a lantern from the outside.
The end of Lunar New year is traditionally celebrated with the Lantern Festival. There are many ways to celebrate the Lantern Festival like eating tangyuan and enjoying a lion dance, but my favorite way is to tell riddles. “
