Asher Hong

Meet Asher Hong, a Chinese American gymnast and the 2023 U.S. National All-Around Gymnastics Champion. He won the title as a teenager—the first to do so since 2012. Recently, Asher and Team USA earned the bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris. Impressively, both of his brothers are also members of the U.S. national gymnastics team.

Like many Olympic athletes, Asher excels academically as well; he is currently a sophomore at Stanford University.

On a personal note, I love that my kids have always been interested in my artwork. When they saw me drawing Asher, they got excited every time he appeared on TV. Representation matters, and it’s inspiring that my kids can see someone who looks like them excelling in so many fields. As my jiu-jitsu coach says, “How you do anything is how you do everything.” Go #TeamUSA!
