Asher Hong

Meet Asher Hong, a Chinese American gymnast and the 2023 U.S. National All-Around Gymnastics Champion. He won the title as a teenager, becoming the first teen to do so since 2012. Asher and Team USA recently captured the bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris. Impressively, Asher’s two brothers are also members of the United States national gymnastics team.

Like many Olympic athletes, Asher excels in the classroom as well. He is currently a sophomore at Stanford University.

On a personal note, I love that my kids have always been interested in my artwork. When they saw me drawing Asher, they got excited every time he appeared on TV. Representation matters, and it’s inspiring that my kids can see someone who looks like them excelling in so many different fields. As my jiu-jitsu coach would say, “How you do anything is how you do everything.” Go #TeamUSA!
